Tim Simenon o más conocido en el panorama musical electrónico y en el Hip Hop como Bomb The Bass editó el año pasado este “Future Chaos” que he encontrado a través de Spotify. En Future Chaos encontraremos electrónica pura, sin guitarras, a medio camino entre Massive Attack y Depeche Mode, y es que el Ex productor de los de Basildon sabe mucho sobre programar mil sintes que hacen el mismo dibujo y que se entrelazan, se filtran se destrozan…. y todo con una elegancia inpecable. Colaborando con el rockero Mark Lanegan consigue firmar Black River, aunque par ami la mejor canción de todo el disco es la que lo abre Smog (feat. Paul Conboy).

Un disco altamente recomendado para amantes de la electrónica más oscura, del triphop y del synthpop en genaral.

Hacia tiempo que todos esperabamos un cambio, algo que motivase a los fans del synthpop y nos diese algo que llevarnos a los oidos de calidad, y De/Vision lo consiguen con este estupendo Noob. Giro hacia lo electro y en algunos casos rozando la parte mas radical de Fischerspooner. Sin muchas guitarras y con bases poco marcadas, y es que eso es lo que se lleva en europa, las bases bajas pero con bajos muy marcados y electrónicos, voces distorsionadas y melodias muy bailables. Un gran disco para sin ninguna duda el mejor grupo de synthpop del siglo XXI.

Este disco es quiza de los más flojos de De/Vision, y no porque contenga malas canciones pero si que llega a parecer muy monotono y no hay mucho cambio de velocidad en las canciones, abusan demasiado de las baladas aunque contiene canciones preciosas como My Own Worst Enemy o Not Made Of Gold y la increible Addict. No es muy buen disco pero la voz de Steffen sigue estando a la altura de los grandes del synthpop.

Vuelven los De/Vision más eletronicos y un poco más bailables, pero no aportan nada con este disco, me explico, no aportan nada nuevo o no dan un paso arriesgado hacia una producción distinta a lo que vienen haciendo desde que Markus dejó la banda. Aún asi siguen manteniendo un nivel altisimo de buenas melodias, una buena muestra sería la genial Aimee o I’m Not Dreaming Of You que contiene una de las melodias más synthpop de toda su obra.

Devolution fue un intento de volver a la parte sucia de De/Vision, sin duda lo consiguen con Sadness o Digital Dream, canciones de producción más electronica, olvidando las guitarras en algunos casos y dentrandose en detalles, sobre todo cuidando mucho las bases. Tambien hay concesiones al baile como Drifting Sideways. Quizas este disco fue el que los fans recibieron con más frialdad ya que en sus conciertos en España apenas llegaron a las 200 personas en Madrid o Barcelona. Momento a destacar “Miss You More“

Primer disco de De/Vision sin Markus Ganssert com teclista, al parecer la separación tiene que ver con el rumbo guitarrero que habia tomado De/Vision con su anterior album Void. Disco muy tranquilo, con baterias acusticas y guitarras pero mucho más frio y lento, en parte la culpa la tiene que hayan dejado de trabajar con su productor guru Jose Alvarez Brill. Aun asi mantienen un nivel alto con canciones como Heart shaped tumor, Heroine o Blindness

Para mi el mejor disco de la banda sin ninguna duda, toman riesgos y hacen algo realmente novedoso y excitante. Introducen baterias acústicas y guitarras en casi todas sus canciones, mezclan perfectamente el Rock y la electrónica dando lugar a momentos gloriosos como Freedom, Foreigner o Re-invent yourself. Canciones rozando lo industrial como Hope Won’t Die o Give In o baladas preciosas como Self Deception y Remember

Para muchos fans este es el mejor disco de la banda, por fin caen en las redes del rock y meten guitarras en sus canciones, además simulan baterias reales an algunos temas, lo que da a entender que han crecido musicalmente y que ya no les vale con las maquinas, necesitan el error humano y el sonido sucio y un poco industrial que impregnaba todas las producciones de finales de los 90. A destacar la producción de Strange Affection y de Drifter, con sección de cuerdas incluida.

Primer disco de la banda que produce Jose Alvarez Brill y que por fin encauza su sonido hacia sonidos más actuales y más cercanos a los tiempos que se vive a finales de los 90, y es que todos los discos de De/Vision hasta Monosex suenan demasiado antiguos, parecen grabados en los 80 o principio de los 90, y la verdad que en 1996 los tiros iban por otro lado, pero De/Vision siempre se han caracterizado por ir a su ritmo, y siempre buscando dar un paso más en su sonido, eso pasaria en su siguiente álbum.

Segundo disco editado un año después de World without end y para mi el disco mas flojo, aun asi contiene canciones que les han hecho muy grandes dentro del synthpop, sobre todo su Blue Moon que es quizas su “enjoy the silence” particular. Siguen manteniendo un nivel muy alto de melodas y de arreglos muy elegantes, aunque se hace un poco más espeso que el anterior, quizas porque es más lento de bpm que el anterior álbum.

Primer disco de la banda alemana, entonces formada por Thomas Adam, Steffen Keth , Markus Ganssert y Stefan Blender. Claramente influenciado por la música de Depeche Mode encontramos verdaderos himnos del synthpop clásico como Try To Forget, Your Hands on My Skin o Dinner Without Grace. Un disco lleno de ambientes oscuros, sonidos de piano clásico de los 90 y claros guiños al grupo de Basildon. Indispensable para entender la evolución y personalidad del grupo.
